Re: Bullet shaving
BoreBuddy is going to start shipping 4.5" barrels within the next couple weeks. We have a novel extractor cut profile that is very forgiving with respect to extractor positioning and allows the barrels to be used for both LH and RH builds. The chamber entrance is radiused as much as you can without ...

Re: Performance of upgrades
Palmetto 22lr uppers are very hit or miss. I'd recommend getting an upper from a different manufacturer, it seems PSA uppers have been nothing but trouble for the past 6 months or so.

Get a 4.5" dedicated barrel and collar and don't look back.

Re: Recommendations for a dedicated setup...
Any free float type handguard should work just fine. The collar will convert your bolt to work with the dedicated barrel, and from there you can see how it runs before buying any needed upgrade parts.

It sounds like short stroking issues. Try lightening the weight a bit.

I'd suggest that you start with high velocity ammo and all stainless internal weights.

Re: buffer butt tension plug
Although you will probably be happier long term with a dedicated barrel, there is no issue with using what you have. You can flip the gas block around backwards to block the gas port, and I'd suggest using our folding stock adapter instead of the plug. We have a QD mount option for the back that wil...

Re: Buffer Plugs not staying locked
Plug movement is pretty normal since spinning it into place causes some degree of spring loading (twisting). I'd suggest spinning the buffer plug 1/4 to 1/2 turn past the notch, and then back to the notch. This is also recommended in the instructions which can be found here: https://borebuddy.com/wp...

Re: Round rimfire firing pin?
After all the upgrades, my AR22 rifles are the most reliable and easy to maintain semi-auto 22 I've ever used. I can't even remember the last time I had a malfunction that was not caused by a bad primer.

The pressure plug does use spring tension, no allen bolts involved whatsoever.

Can you not push a standard plug in against that system? You should be able to.

Re: PSA dedicated .22LR upper compatibility with BoreBuddy?
Mini-Mags are great! I've also found 36gr Armscor to run very nicely with a weighted bolt. It's dirty and cheap, but gives great groups (for bulk ammo) in my experience. The lot of Armscor I have had a high failure to fire rate (2-5 per box) with the stock firing pin, but the BoreBuddy round tip fir...

Re: buffer butt tension plug
No, it rests against the lower receiver above the buffer tube. A plug keeps the 22lr BCG from impacting against that area so hard. Adding a buffer to the BCG also helps.

Re: PSA dedicated .22LR upper compatibility with BoreBuddy?
It appears to bounce in the video. Standard velocity may have issues cycling with a weight installed depending on the type of ammo. Our new Gen 3 simple stainless weights are reduced in weight a bit from the Gen 2 so that they are a bit more tolerant of shorter barrels and/or lower powered ammo.

Re: Help with my AR22 setup, please!
I picked up a Taccom reliability kit some months back mostly for the extractor since the CMMG ones wear pretty quickly. The laser cutting was visually sloppy, and the hole was out of spec enough that a pin wouldn't go through, so it was pretty worthless. The kit didn't have a spring at that point, b...
