Re: Borebuddy with Catch22 V2

Take everything out of the receiver extension and take the bolt buffer out of the BCG. Test with standard velocity ammunition for cycling and catch function. If you have a relatively fresh S&W magazine, use it. If it won't reset the hammer, but locks back, the bolt is too slow and you need less weig...

Re: Independent videos featuring BoreBuddy products

If anyone has video of the barrel collar with the polymer insert ("22lr Quiet Collar), I'd be interested to see whether it, by itself, reduces bolt bounce.

Re: Finally - Time for titanium firing pin

I've ordered and will be happy to provide feedback.

How do you want the feedback to be provided? A thread here, email, or a review on the sales page?

Finally - Time for titanium firing pin

I finally broke my original round tipped firing pin. I thought I had a failure to light, but was using Eley Contact and there was no impression on the rim at all, so I pulled the pin to inspect it. It was broken at the regular place, but the return spring didn't come out with it. When I returned hom...

Re: Catch 22 causes lights strikes and failures-to-fire

Without that ridge, the catch can fall far enough into the recess to stick. I use a similar catch that has no ridge, but with some receivers I need to put a spacer into the bottom of the recess to get reliable function.

Re: Round rimfire firing pin?

Several thousands rounds on my BB pin with no problems. Using a full power hammer spring gives a normal depth of strike, though even with reduced power hammer springs, the round tipped BB pin still gave good function while leaving only the most shallow image in the brass. I dropped in to get a coupl...

Re: Round rimfire firing pin?

I tried to edit my post to include the following. I am amazed at the progress made in this market. I think I started reading about 22lr ARs six or seven years ago and began assembling them a couple of years after that. I was braced for lots of problems based on the complaints I read. CMMG's bolt imp...

Re: Round rimfire firing pin?

I was waiting for my own CMMG modified pin (rounded strike head) to break and got tired of waiting. I put the BB FP with rounded tip in and went to the range. I used a reduced power hammer spring to preserve the prior pin, and the strikes were very light, but everyone of 220 round ignited. I don't p...

Re: Help with my AR22 setup, please!

Taccom is currently working on their ULW 22LR barrel... I'm probably going to jump on one of those when they're ready. 5" sporter chamber barrel with 16" sleeve, similar to their PCC barrels, and Wiland's 10/22 barrels. I'm not sure if a heavier recoil spring would help or not, honestly. But it may...

Re: Help with my AR22 setup, please!

Beyer 16" lightweight barrel, Bentz chamber ... My next step may be to replace the barrel with something Sporter chambered. I have no solution for you, but I do observe that my four CMMG barrels and Lothar Walther barrels all have the sloppiest chambers of any rimfires I've ever owned. I wonder if ...

Re: Trigger Thread

Started my AR22 build with a random mil spec trigger and then tried a lower with a HiperFire Competion. Purchased and installed one myself and after a few K rounds I can say it works very well. At about 2.5lbs with a nice reset and near zero pretravel I'm one happy camper. Frank I'm fascinated by t...

Re: Experimental 17HM2 AR build

I e-mailed CMMG and they are sending me a 0.672" collar free of charge. I've got a new 0.700" collar already, so I am ready for both. That's great CS. I just realized that a collar I have used for quite a while, a long collar from RTB, is longer than the stub on most of my barrels, even my CMMG bar...

Re: AR-15s

The 10/22 vice is like the AR15 vice in that there is an aftermarket that will help you empty your wallet. For most of us there are some limits to the 10/22 design. It is designed with an eye toward economical manufacture and durability. That pays some dividends to a tinkerer; you won't need a vise ...

Re: buffer butt tension plug

I also thought what the OP was really getting at was a pistol plug that threads into the receiver using the threads available for the extension. Otherwise, the request for 1913 rail doesn't make sense. I once saw a solid receiver extension for a carbine, but I don't know who made it. If the regular ...

Re: Trigger Thread

One combination I've not tried but interests me is a Hiperfire EDT with a reduced power hammer spring. I've never found an EDT at a sufficiently attractive price, but I understand it to have a very smooth pull.

Test to see if this will let me post.
